Barca finishes the match against Osasuna with a draw, and already lost 5 of the possible 9 points so far. However, it was nice to see Ansu Fati become the youngest to ever score a goal for Barca. Here are the thoughts of Rafa Hernandez:
The first half was one of the worse halves of football Barcelona played in 2019 and there were dozens of awful displays. There’s still time to sack Valverde right at the end of this match and bring a replacement before the international break ends.
Forget Neymar, Barcelona might already need to save its season.
Is Valverde’s punishing De Jong because he wasn’t a signing he asked for, just like Malcom? The Dutchman was played as a pseudo winger completely lost on pitch. Frenkie dominated the midfield against some of the biggest clubs in the world last season. Under Valverde he’s struggling and looking lost.
A 16 year old scores with his first shot on target for Barcelona’s first team in a match where the team is a goal down in a complete mess. Amazing, special moment for Ansu Fati.
Arthur changed the entire match when he came on. Suddenly the midfield connected, and he even scored! He has his flaws but he rarely has a match below average, incredibly consistent midfielder much like De Jong and Busquets at their best.
He is a certified starter in any Barcelona lineup.
Good news is that Rakitic didn’t play a single minute again todaya against Osasuna. The message is clear: Get out of the club.
Five points dropped in the first three league matches. I was worried 15 minutes into the first match at San Mamés, now I fear for the season. Messi will be back after the break, we’re missing a leader on pitch.
