Therefore, it didn’t surprise that Valverde started the match with most of the usual starting lineup. However, Sergi Roberto, Coutinho and Busquets did start on the bench. When Busi doesn’t play, Rakitic play at the DM position, playing with Arturo and Arthur in front of him. Although Raki is a great player, and he’s doing the best he can, he’s not a defensive midfielder. Therefore, at the first half Barca had a difficult time playing their usual passing game. Next season De Jong should fix that, and there will be another natural ‘pivot’ in the squad.

Barca has it heroes this season, and while the league title is close, the attention natually goes to the big stars. But, the most surprising player this season is Clement Lenglet, and the Barca fans should also thank him. Today, Lenglet scored his first league goal for Barca, and that’s amazing for the CB that arrived as a replacement for Umtiti. When you think about the fact that he cost only 35 Million Euros, and that he had no problem to come and sit on the bench, that’s a great example. Although he took Umtiti’s place as he got injured, no one though he would keep his place when Samu will return. However, Samu has a fierce competition even when he’ll be back to his full power(soon hopefully).
